Introduction
As the wheels of our return journey from the enchanting land of Odisha slowly rolled toward the closure of yet another remarkable trip, we found ourselves longing for the excitement and anticipation that travel brings. Yearning to divert our thoughts from bidding farewell to cherished memories, we eagerly turned our attention toward planning our next adventure. With an aim to keep our spirits upbeat and ignite the wanderlust within, we began exploring potential destinations for our journeys in 2023. The prospect of embarking on a new adventure provided a glimmer of joy amidst the bittersweet end of our current voyage.
Our hearts were already brimming with anticipation for our next adventure. With multiple states vying for our attention, the choices were plenty, but two destinations shone brighter than the rest: Maharashtra and Gujarat. The allure of these diverse and culturally rich states captivated our imaginations, making them the perfect contenders for our much-awaited trip in April 2023. With the freedom to determine the duration of our journey based on the multitude of captivating places to visit, we delved into the planning process with great enthusiasm.
Embracing the Newness and overcoming resistance
After much deliberation and contemplation, the final decision for our next adventure was made in the monsoon retreating month of October. Gujarat emerged as the clear winner, capturing our imaginations with its unexplored landscapes and cultural wonders. While Maharashtra held a special place in my heart, having explored some of its treasures before, the allure of venturing into the unknown in Gujarat was irresistible for both of us. The prospect of embarking on a journey filled with novel experiences and uncharted territories promised to make our trip an unforgettable one.
In January, we shared our travel plans to Gujarat with our family. Despite initial resistance, my mom eventually gave her blessing and wished us luck. Her support and understanding were crucial as we embarked on this new adventure. With our family behind us, we felt confident and excited about the journey ahead.
Planning for the trip: Passionate Map Exploration
Immersed in our enthusiasm for the upcoming adventure, I dedicated an entire week to meticulously studying the diverse destinations in Gujarat. Each day, I would set aside an hour to delve into the map of Gujarat, passionately exploring its nooks and crannies. With a blank canvas before me, I sketched a rough representation of Gujarat, pouring my heart and soul into the task.
Drawing upon various resources and recommendations, I carefully marked the must-visit locations, cultural landmarks, and natural wonders on the map. It was a labor of love, an intricate process that allowed me to envision our route and create a visual representation of the journey that lay ahead.
The outcome of this passionate endeavor was a map that encapsulated the wonders of Gujarat, serving as a visual reminder of the treasures awaiting us. It became a symbol of our commitment to uncovering the hidden gems, embracing the newness, and creating cherished memories along the way.
Booking Tickets and Hotels: Ensuring a Seamless Journey
Recognizing the high demand for Gir vehicle permits, we promptly started the booking process in January. Determining our approximate arrival date was essential, considering the limited availability of permits. Through meticulous planning and careful consideration, we settled on a date and stuck to it, despite initial concerns. Our early preparation proved vital in securing the desired Gir Safari experience.
Moving on to hotel reservations, Preethi took charge of booking accommodations in Dwarka, Gir, and Diu. The process involved thorough research and deliberation, aiming to find the perfect stays for our journey. By March, we had successfully finalized bookings for Ahmedabad and the Statue of Unity, leaving only Nadabet, near the Indo-Pak border, to be arranged.
Due to limited options in the vicinity, extensive research was conducted to identify suitable accommodations near Nadabet. After careful consideration, we chose Becharaji, which offered excellent lodging options. Our commitment to finding the best stays, even in remote locations, ensured that we had comfortable stays at all the places with good quality food.
By diligently addressing ticket and hotel bookings, we set the stage for a seamless and well-organized journey. Each reservation represented a piece of the puzzle, coming together to form an itinerary.
